Unveiling My Humble Home Lab

Step into my home lab, a world of endless tech possibilities housed within a server rack. Within its confines, an array of devices orchestrates innovation and exploration. Let’s take a tour through this digital land.

The Core Ensemble

The star of the show is an impressive Dell server armed with 64 cores, 128GB RAM, and lightning-fast SSD storage. This juggernaut runs a type 1 hypervisor, hosting a diverse lineup of virtual machines (VMs). From Docker containers and portal apps to LAMP stacks and security sentinels like Wazuh, this server is a canvas for my tech experiments.

Switching It Up

Two switches take center stage: a reliable gigabit dumb switch and a less capable 100Mbps smart switch. These gatekeepers of connectivity ensure seamless data flow. At the rear, a compact gigabit smart switch with five ports manages interfaces with ease.

NAS: The Unsung Hero

An unassuming NAS, powered by an old i5 and equipped with trusty HDDs, stands as a data haven. While not flashy, it’s the backbone of my data storage and retrieval operations, nothing beats simplicity and reliability.

Eyes in Every Corner

Three cameras form a watchful eye in my home CCTV setup, with four unused cameras present for future expansion.

Future Horizons

While some details such as manufactures & models remain concealed for security, the unused desktop box and four dormant cameras hint at a future of potential expansions. In this space of tech, creativity and learning, I’m reminded that the boundaries of innovation are only limited by our imagination.
